gia and hermine

Gia is nearly finished with her physical growth. She is in for some analysis and testing and perhaps some final developmental recalibrations. Cyberheuristic engineer Hermine will check to ensure Gia's cybernetic implants have properly distributed and integrated themselves throughout Gia's brain and central nervous system. (The monthly OQ tests measure that things are probably OK, but this is the last good chance to direct physical changes.)

Once her brain stops growing, Gia would basically be too smart for her own good for several years without sociointellectual limiters. Otherwise you might as well leave her alone in the house in 1983 with her dad's Porsche 928.

She's starting to feel adult emotions, such as envy and inadequacy. "Why can't I have Hermine's hair? Or her power, I can do her job. Or her broad shoulders, or her... other things. She probably has a paramour for every night of the month, she's so much prettier than I am." Behavioral conditioning will begin soon enough.
