When I was young I found box's of old Dragon magazines. In it was a comic series called Wormy that caught my attention. Underneath the Dragons, Imps, Trolls etc. was a subplot about the small intelligent animals. Underneath those are the insects and avians.
I was testing various engines and styles looking for that same vibe. Here we see a forest clearing unoccupied by anything meaningful.
