CAT OR DOG? (polyphonic prose story)

A cat is best for any snowman. People said that was right, even before it began, A dog wasn't right, with yellow snow and all that. For Christmas, the snowman got a special house cat. This snowman's cat had a little blue hat and long red winter scarf. Any dog would just eat them both, and then barf. Bumper was much more than most cats. She spoke to the snowman, having lots of silly chats. Mostly, Bumper would talk about herself. It's always a cat's favorite gossip, and also on how to climb any bookshelf. Don't you like my soft fur? What do you think of my special purr? Would you like to know what food I prefer? At first, the snowman still found it all fascinating, where anyone else would find it mostly grating. By the time spring came, and he melted again, the cat had become the snowman's worst pain. Everyone noticed, as the snowman washed down the drain, there was nothing left of his snow brain. I'm sure he'd have preferred a dog's yellow snow stain.
