Alex Grey

Alex Grey (Alexander Grey; 1953 – ) is an artist from the USA renowned for his contributions to the Psychedelic and Visionary Art movements and as the co-founder of the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM) alongside his wife, Allyson Grey. Grey's work is characterised by detailed anatomical depictions that explore themes of consciousness, spirituality, and the human experience. He primarily uses oil on canvas, creating intricate, visionary art that merges the physical and metaphysical realms. However, he is known for creating spiritual and psychedelic artworks in multiple forms including performance art, process art, installation art, sculpture, visionary art, and painting. His paintings often feature luminous, spectral colours and complex patterns, reflecting a deep exploration of the interconnectedness of life.
