Wood Elemental

Fueled by the energy released from dying trees and other plants, these beings are probably among the most ephemeral of all elementals, second only to those born of fire. They inhabit wood which no longer has any means of sustaining itself- and so the wood elementals fashion forms allowing them to move, find a mate, and more wood with which to imbue the essence of the next generation, and then rot away. That being said, under the right circumstances, some have been preserved for far longer than is common.
