The second daughter of Tsar Nicholas II, the last monarch of Russia, and of Tsarina Alexandra.
Tatiana was a famous beauty. She was tall, slender, and graceful. She had auburn hair, green-gray eyes, and elegant features. She was widely viewed as the most beautiful of the four grand duchesses and the one who resembled their mother most.
Tatiana's murder by Communist revolutionaries on 17 July 1918, at the age of 21, resulted in her canonization as a passion bearer by the Russian Orthodox Church.
