Canine's Teapot Voyage

Impending doom? Dashel's eyes widened in terror. Ahead the river narrowed and large rocks rose up from the water, obviously making passage for the teapot impossible. It appeared as though his voyage was at an end. Just then the pace of the water quickened and the level of the stream rose, enabling Dashel to float over the tops of the rocks instead of being smashed against them. This explained the faint rumbling he had he heard earlier. The dam near the pier where he started his journey had burst. Reports said it was failing, but it had failed. Why else would the water level have risen so dramatically?
