Chromolithography

Chromolithography is a colour printing technique that involves using multiple lithographic stones or plates to create vibrant and detailed colour images. Each stone or plate is prepared with a separate colour ink, and they are carefully aligned and printed one after another to achieve the final full-colour composition. This method was widely used in the 19th century to produce colourful prints, posters, advertisements, and even decorative art. Chromolithography allowed for the mass production of visually appealing artworks and played a significant role in making art more accessible to a broader audience.
