My perspective on the question raised was about individuals who have left an indelible mark on the memory of humanity (or specific individuals) as being constant and beyond time. 

Indeed, there is a part of us that remains unchanged at any age. We may express it, conceal it, or rediscover it for ourselves and others. Focusing our lives on something immutable and hidden within can offer us the possibility to transcend time. 
Or, we can concentrate on the "exterior," caring for the physical self that is always changing, and thus, continually experience stress.
