Meaning "she who invites" also known as Izanami-no-kami or simply as Izanami, is an important goddess from Japanese mythology. She is a goddess of creation and of death.

The Tower was the engineering marvel of its age. By the time the builders reached above the clouds they had developed a means to install new floors in the middle of the massive structure, jacking the uppermost floors further and further aloft. This allowed the statesmen and religious elite to build upon the very roof of the monolith, and soon the top had become a platform of wonders rarely assembled - where one majestic edifice took the form of a tower, a reflection of the greater structure in miniature, another lifted a glass dome to the sky like an enormous holiday bauble, and a third the form of a stern castle. Indeed the royal family moved their residence to the tallest keep of the most massive bastion atop the tower, so that when - in his madness - the nether deity tore everything out by the root, the state died as surely as did all the workmen, artisans, and people of talent ensconced in levels below. 

Ambition in purity died too that day; thenceforth man would know only hubris.
