The New Global Federation—or the NGF as it was now called—had emerged from the ashes of World War Three, uniting the shattered remnants of nations under a single banner. Led by the Unifier, a man who had promised peace and order to a world ravaged by chaos, the NGF was more than just a government. It was an empire, stretching across the globe, its iron grip tightening on every corner of the world. The former United States, now reduced to little more than a province in the Unifier’s empire, was no different.

But the NGF’s peace came at a price—absolute control. Freedom of speech, religion, and independent thought had been sacrificed on the altar of security and prosperity. The Unifier and his government demanded total allegiance, and anyone who defied them was swiftly silenced. Jake had seen it happen over and over—people disappearing, branded as traitors or enemies of peace. And now, he was one of them.

Jake glanced over at the group of insurgents huddled around him, their faces covered in soot and grime, their eyes hard with determination. They were a ragtag group—former soldiers, outcasts, men and women who had refused to bow to the new order. They had nothing left to lose, and that made them dangerous.

"We’ve only got one shot at this," Jake muttered, his voice low but firm. "We hit the NGF outpost hard and fast. Take out their comms, disrupt their supply lines. If we can cause enough chaos, maybe—just maybe—we can trigger something bigger."

The others nodded grimly, checking their weapons and gear. This wasn’t their first raid, but it was their most ambitious. They had hit small targets before—supply depots, patrols, small outposts—but this was different. They were going after a major NGF military base, one that would cripple the Federation’s control over the region, even if only for a short while.

Jake’s heart pounded in his chest, but not from fear. There was no turning back now. He had made a promise to his son, Daniel, and to himself. Even if the Rapture had passed him by, even if his soul was lost, he would make sure his son had a fighting chance. He would teach him the Bible, teach him the truth, and give him the tools to resist this new world order.

Jake’s mind flashed back to the day he had found the Bible in the ruins of a small town just outside what had once been Washington, D.C. The world had already collapsed by then, the Rapture taking millions without warning, leaving the rest to fight over what remained. Jake had been scavenging for supplies when he stumbled upon the tattered book, buried beneath the rubble of an old church. At first, he hadn’t thought much of it—it was just a relic of a bygone era, a book no one believed in anymore.

_September 9th, 2034 — Former United States Territory, Western Command_

The sound of gunfire echoed across the barren plains, cutting through the stillness of the ruined city. Dust and ash hung in the air, remnants of a world torn apart by war and abandonment. Jake Harper crouched behind a crumbling concrete wall, his breathing steady, his eyes fixed on the distant horizon where the flags of the New Global Federation fluttered in the polluted wind.

He knew this fight was a long shot—maybe even a death sentence—but that didn’t matter anymore. What mattered was that he fought, that he didn’t just lie down and let this new world swallow him whole. If there was one thing Jake had learned in the years since the Rapture, it was that you could either bow to this New Age, or you could go down fighting.
