She stood under the red umbrella, looking at the clock tower. It was almost six o'clock, the time they had agreed to meet. She had been waiting for him for half an hour, but she didn't mind. She was so excited to see him again, after he had been away for so long. She had missed him terribly, and she couldn't wait to hug him and kiss him and tell him how much she loved him.

It was six o'clock now. Where was he?

She shook her head, trying to calm herself down. He was probably fine, she told herself. Maybe his phone battery had died, hoping that he would show up any minute. She closed her eyes and imagined his face. His warm brown eyes, his charming smile, his soft black hair. 

She felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw his friend standing behind her. He looked pale and sad.

He said: "I'm sorry." He said: "He died."
He said: "There was an accident."
He said: "He didn't make it."

She lost him, her love, her life.
The rain covered her sorrow.

Duchess Fontaine is leader of a small group of Light Elves, they had been called by many people to fix Moreyed after the kingdom fell to darkness. In her arrogance she assumed it was simply a bad state of economics that she and her elves would be faced with; she couldn't be more dead wrong. Her soldiers were constantly dealing with raiders, theives, and a brand new wave of Necromancers who seemed to have sprung up overnight! Ironically it was she and her group who needed saving and they're stuck in an old fort they have fortified unable to leave as the dark locals try to break in and end her life.
