View from Dione

Dione is one of Saturn's moons with many interesting features. Dione is made up of a rocky core and an icy mantle and crust. It's one of Saturn's densest moons, with a density 1.48 times that of liquid water. Dione's surface is marked by a variety of craters, from heavily cratered plains to lightly cratered plains. The trailing hemisphere is darker than the leading hemisphere, and has large cliffs and scarps called chasmata. Dione has a prominent ridge system called Padua Chasma. It also has bright wispy material, which may have formed from eruptions along cracks in the surface.
