New Years fireworks were going off in Amsterdam below, ringing in the new year, 1900! A new century!
Like a whirlwind of azure hair and cunning, she shimmied across the greasy underbelly of Baron Von Gullard's ostentatious airship, the "Cloud Kraken."
The reeking innards of the leviathan pulsated with steam and the rhythmic groan of its iron heart. Miri wasn't just after the Baron's usual haul of ducats plundered from hard working tenants. Her prize was nestled within the heavily guarded vault, a twin pair of legendary pistols that had belonged to her father, Fairhardt Fortuna, slain in a firefight with the Baron's goons when she was just a child.
By dawn, the "Cloud Kraken" wouldn't be gracing the skies of ye olden steampunk Amsterdam anymore, it would be Miri's own private skyship, rechristened the "Fairhardt Flyer," headed for Berlin.
It would be a testament to her audacity and a symbol of defiance against the Baron's iron grip on the city.

Congratulations are in order for Sonia for top honors, GAI for runner up and Pez for a solid third. I also want to hold up Shywolfs entry as he tied Pez but was given 4th. This was another outstanding example of quality artwork that was on theme. Thank you for putting your time and talents on display. Truly a fabulous display of quality images. Without your outstanding efforts these challenges wouldn't be possible. THANK YOU.
