Lion, Dry Land Ahead

Lions can swim but they don't really like doing so. Their physiology does not lend itself well to swimming, and lions will only swim if they need to cross rivers or streams during a hunt with their pride or rarely when there is flood water.

Sometimes the lions of the Okavango Delta have to swim to cross the water. The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a very large inland delta formed where the Okavango River reaches a tectonic trough in the central part of the Kalahari Desert.
