The Faculty of Alchemy is a relatively new faculty at Yew University. Founded 190 years ago, the faculty was the result of a merger between the Faculty of Arcane Sciences and the Faculty of Natural Philosophy. The Faculty of Alchemy specializes in the theoretical and applied arcane science of transmogrification. Since the Faculty's founding, it has maintained a close relationship with the Central Royal Army and has earned a reputation for being a resolute center of Royalist sentiment. The current chair, Lady Xthra Ayuttya is a leading expert on arcane metal manipulation and one of the only living individuals that are able to produce Mithril, a critical material for the production of spellsword blades. The faculty is one of the smaller faculties at Yew University with only 92 faculty members.
