The Angel and the Trickster Within
Creato a year ago · 4 commenti· 0 mi piace

Nested opposites,
halo and horns intertwine,
souls mirror in masks.
Two matryoshka figures embody duality—an angel with halo and wings beside a horned trickster draped in golden patterns. Their round, folkloric faces radiate symmetry against a vivid patterned background. The piece merges sacred and mischievous, innocence and subversion, into a folkloric allegory.
Artistic Statement: Drawing from Russian folk matryoshkas, this piece evolves into pop-surreal allegory. Haloed angel and horned trickster echo the eternal dance of virtue and mischief. Influenced by pop art boldness and folk modernism, it thrives on contrast, flat color geometry, and archetypal dual symbolism.
Influencing Artists: Keith Haring, Natalia Goncharova, Marc Chagall, Shepard Fairey, Jean-Michel Basquiat
