I've considered expanding Mary Blood abilities to beyond pyrokinesis. Scorched steel can take on a dark, shiny blue hue. Moreover, some "falling stars" contain metallic iron and nickel.
In some traditions, fairies and iron do not mix. This elemental character is well-adapted to humanity, so she is not so easily foiled. In fact, she is well-versed in the ways of blacksmiths.
The "usual" anti-fairy protocols will, at best, annoy her . . . which is a truly bad idea.
