The Skindancer is a monstrous humanoid born from arcane experiments, resulting in a creature with a highly adaptive defense system. Standing between 9 and 10 feet tall and weighing 800 pounds, its flesh is covered in a morphic carapace that shifts to resist different types of attacks. Despite not being a shapechanger, the skindancer's skin changes to provide resistance to the last type of damage it received, whether from weapons or energy. It can resist different energies for a minute or until it takes a different type of damage. Skindancers are primarily solitary creatures, feared for their ability to trip and overpower their opponents with their powerful slam attacks. They speak Common and are often found in underground environments, particularly within the caves of Khorvaire, where they are a notable threat to the dwarves of the Mror Holds .
