The Best of Friends

When I need to shed a tear, you give me a hug.

When I want to share a moment, you’re right there for me.

When I smile with happiness, you smile, too.

When the sky’s blue, and when the sky’s dark, when the rain falls, and when the rain stops, when it’s morning and then it’s noon, when the winter passes, and spring flowers bloom,

You’re the one by my side, the one I get to see. You teach me the world, you show me the best in even the most awful things.

You give me these memories, you give me this light, you give me support, you make my days just right.

And so what if we’re different? So what if we fight? So what if you move away, and then it’s night?

Because in the end, you’re my best friend, a part of me, a part of my heart, and no matter what, I promise you, you always, forever, will be. ❤️
