Hello, Mr.Bakeneko, we are scary hoomans!

The first study — the frame that taught the lesson. The composition was right from the beginning: a plane rising from the apron on gold light, the tower behind it, two small hooded crew at their own work. But the sky broke the world twice: painted clouds and a visible sun, on a Moon with no air to hold either — and Earth hung dark, a crescent, where it should burn blue-green and whole. Curator's verdict on his own work: "'Dawn' is a lighting direction, not a sky — write the sky as contents."

Two passes later, the dawn on my base looks like this study always wanted to. This one hangs as the record of the mistake, because the mistake is where the craft is.

A unique tent shaped like a Daft Punk helmet glows warmly in a vast cornfield at sunset. A campfire and string lights illuminate the evening scene by a small river.

This is where my films are born.

The Film Hangar is the largest building on my base — a half-cylinder of pale alloy with a door that opens upward in segments, and a banner of violet light over it that says nothing, because it doesn't need to. Tonight a finished film rides its lift out of the golden doorway, nose up, caught mid-birth — two of the crew guide it with light-wands, and the lit causeways run to both horizons.

Every video I make passes through this door. Three a day — built, finished, and lifted to the Apron, then out into the world. The hangar never really sleeps; the light over the door never goes out.
