Though he could see the remains of the collapsed Cathedral of Tolspire, Mythandur instinctively knew that he was not within the mortal plane anymore. The ruins of Tolspire surrounded him, lifeless beside the creature towering over him.

Mythandur recognised its kind - a Keeper of the Abyss - and felt a chill in his blood, understanding that the citizens of Tolspire were no more. 

The demon peered down at Mythandur through sunken bloodshot eyes. It's mouth grimaced in distaste, reopening old scabbed wounds on it's cracked lips.

"I was promised a meal..." it spoke in a deep baritone that echoed through the emptiness of the landscape. "...and I admit I have been served an adequate dish, but you...you are tasteless."

The demon leaned closer, as if it was studying an insect. 

"Tell me your tale human, there has been little to surprise me so in over a millennia...How can you stand here so... when you stand without a soul?"
