"Society" is all about the many many lies people tell each other constantly in order to "fit in" and to "cooperate" or "keep things peaceful". It's very interesting that considering the rules we get told to tell the truth, actually we are also having to constantly lie too. It's often no wonder we have then also tell ourselves lies based on things we're told and things we  experience which tell us that our inner truths are invalid. 

I have spent a long time thinking about this recently. How do we even begin to make sense of the world when the messages we are given are wildly contradictory? We've absorbed so many "rules" and "ideas" and "manners" and "social niceties" etc but because they are all predicated on actual lies we tell each other and everyone else, there's no reality to even begin to direct attention to, so how can we "improve" and if we are asked to do so, who are we doing it for? Ourselves or the expectations of everyone around us based on the multitude of lies humans have been telling each other forever just to survive in communities where rules on behaviour, beauty, "talent", style, manners, etc all actually distort the reality of what humans are individually and what we can and should do or say?
