He spoke abruptly in Latin tongue,
The coffins opened in half-light,
His skinny finger pointed, and I was stung,
Shadows moved towards me with might.

Thank so much Puaro, you are really so very  kind. That old man is recognizable in my nightmares and many legends. A very touching tribute,  and deep  understanding. Confronting such visions is the very reason I’m here. (Metaphorically speaking).

We were leaving on a ferry,
The coachman leaned in to say,
- There's an old man who lives near the cemetery,
Making coffins for those who pass away.

A year ago an evil spirit took hold of his mind,
And left him lost in darkness entwined!

He started lashing out at strangers,
Terrifying their kids with his ire;
Mocking their faith, a soul in danger,
Despising humanity with a fire.

If you chance upon him in the night,
Oh God, your situation will be tight.

Silence so deep in the village rests,
As if all the people were gone.
A strange prayer heard from the cemetery's crests,
Where an old man lives alone.
What is his song?...
Whom does he summon?... 

I chanced upon a cross and stake,
Left abandoned on the ground,
What dark secrets do they make,
In this ominous place around? 

In each home, a morbid sight one can see,
People in coffins, alive, yet not free!
