Goshen approached the dimensional gate yet again. How many times had she been through? Did time have any meaning, anymore?
She had scoured the past in attempts to rescue her love, only to find her fate unchanged. She had whisked her love away to far flung dimensions, only to watch him die again and again.
Who had built this gate? What cruel gods had fashioned a portal of such extreme power that could not unmake the past of one person?
Bitterness seized her heart. If she could not undo the past, she would undo the future. She passed through the gate yet again and flung herself into the current of linear time, rather than swimming against it, as she had done before.
She would find the end of everything and watch the universe shrivel and burn.
