Metatron the Empyrean

It was supposed to be just a simple survey mission. An ExoTech science team sent to scan Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter, for minerals believed they were about to get a nice bonus from the company for their discovery. What they found instead was an ancient mech lying in state, floating in a river of dreams, waiting for its moment to emerge into the waking world.

The ExoTech security team that had been sent with them was slaughtered to the last. Man and mech alike were annihilated, not only with astonishing speed and precision, but with grace. When the carnage had subsided, only a single terrified survivor, Dr. Rachel Alexander, remained. She then heard a voice unlike any she had ever heard, which spoke not into her ears but into her soul.

"My Master's sacred place is inviolate. It is mine to strike down those unworthy to enter. But you are kindred. Come, child, and embrace the End. So it is written, and so it shall be. This is the will of God."
