Mystide

Legends tell of a great spiral beast from the depths of the ocean that chose to bond with certain Tideminds, granting them enhanced intellect and supernatural defenses. This transformation turns them into guardians of sacred waters, standing motionless in the tides for years at a time, only moving when the balance of the sea is threatened. Some scholars theorize that Mystide can see glimpses of the past and future, but its slow speech makes it nearly impossible to understand its insights before it drifts into another trance.
