The Blackjaw Isles

The Blackjaw Isles are a grim chain of volcanic islets and knife-edged reefs, named for their resemblance to a row of broken teeth jutting from the sea. Constantly battered by stormwinds and rough surf, they are feared by sailors and avoided by most Marellum islanders. Yet their waters are rich with obsidian, black pearls, and shark oil—resources dangerous to gather, but worth fortunes to those who dare. The Isles are also sacred to certain shamanic orders, who believe the jagged reefs are the bones of a primordial leviathan slain by the twin moons.
