‘In Cherokee, ᎪᎳᏅ ᎠᏰᎵᏍᎩ (pronounced Kâ'lanû Ahkyeli'skï) is the malevolent and the most evil spirit of Cherokee witches. In English, it is called the Raven Mocker. It was believed the Raven Mockers were shapeshifters who would appear as old withered men and women or were invisible at times. They searched for the weak and dying, landing on their heads, consuming their hearts without leaving a mark in order the steal their life-forces to extend their own lives.’
