Amoebas

Due to his large size at such an early age, his parents named him Proteus but the 3 syllables in the name were giving him fits so he now goes by Ernst. 

He's such a happy baby - always giggling and smiling - but he does leave a slime trail wherever he goes. But that's expected. He is, after all, an amoeba.

For their enemies, only a cold void of death and the endless wandering would be their fate, which was a fitting end for such unwelcome rabble.
