Carmine Barbarossa joined the wave of European immigrants who flocked to America in the early twentieth century. Many Italian Americans found themselves victimized by or sucked into the criminal underworld. For Carmine, his descent into an underworld was far more literal. His gang ran afoul of a beautiful Lestat. What they hoped to be a simple "lady of the night" to exploit ended up being the springboard that'd propel the ambitious Carmine to take on powers far beyond even the mafia dons and their legions of soldiers. Carmine married this vampire, allowed himself to be turned. Hector Barbarossa inherited his father's ambition and his mother's patience. Carmine met his end in battle and Hector assumed the throne of Castle Barbarossa hidden in a magical realm. Hector then married the daughter of a Giant warchief Carmine was fighting at the time. Hector is infamous for his cruelty against his enemies in his hellish dungeons. Barbarossa vampires are known for torture, abuse of all kinds.
