“You are a willful child sometimes!” I said as she lay at the base of the tree. She teased me, raising her hand and inviting me to join her. I looked around, but there was no one else in the forest. She was the temptation I could not resist, the cathedral where my soul worshipped her with every emotion. I was a gentleman, and she a lady, one I had desired for many years. I moved slowly toward her, sat down feeling like a fly entering a spider’s parlor. She grabbed my hand and pulled me close.
