Michele: "If you're going to use the curbs, you need to spend some time doing it in practice and building a sense of how the car reacts to specific curbs at specific places. Build some notes, like, this curb is fairly low with a smooth lip so it's okay to take; this curb has a hard lip so it can bump you across the track if you hit it too squarely; this curb is rough and high with a severe lip--stay off of it all costs. Some curbs can even cause punctures."

Rhonda: "So you scout and study every curb at every corner?"

Michele: "The ones you're likely to hit, yes, the places at apices and exits. When Sabine uses a curb in a race, she's probably already hit that curb on virtually every practice lap and she's collected her own 'data' on what the car is going to do. Watch. I'll hit an apex curb and then one on exit so you can feel it."
