Eternal Thirst - (Short Story)

The library was a sanctuary of forgotten whispers. Victor D’Arcane, the last of his kind, stood amidst ancient tomes, their spines cracked with age. Moonlight painted the room in silver, casting eerie patterns on the floor. His crimson eyes scanned the shelves, seeking answers buried in the yellowed pages.

Victor’s fingers trailed over leather-bound volumes, each containing forbidden knowledge. His hunger gnawed at him—an insatiable craving that had driven him through empires’ rise and fall. But it was more than bloodlust; it was the weight of memories—their loves, their losses—that haunted him.

Caught in a flashback he stopped moving, looking like a sculpture of himself while his memories took him away to another time.

~ Victor cradled a dying soldier with great caution on a blood-soaked battlefield.

"Shush ... be quiet ..it will be over soon my friend..let me take the pain away .." , his voice creating a velvet sanctuary for the Wounded until Victor fed of him.
