I want to say... Maybe mid teens, anyway that is not so much important. What is important is that their father was killed by dunlendings. This left Heda a widow. The eldest daughter married a rohirrim man, but the younger one fell in love with a young dunadan,  named Gondien. That brings me to Calanon. Calanon was Feredir's father. A life long ranger with two sons Sadron and Gondien. Their mother had been a dunedain woman. Sadron the elder never married. Not from lack of desire, but because he died before he had the chance, when Feredir was still very young.
