"Honky Tonk Woman", "Gimme 3 Steps", and "Mustang Sally"

Played a joint last night where the house band had a really enthusiastic crowd dancing to tunes like "Honky Tonk Woman", "Gimme 3 Steps", and "Mustang Sally", so I kind of knew that what I do wasn't going to go over that great. I played a kind of mediocre set of "After Midnight" (JGB version), "Going Down the Road Feeling Bad", and "Down By the River", which all went over exactly like I thought they would. I feel like a normal person would have said to themselves, "Well, I guess this place just isn't for me." So why was my brain going "Maybe next time if I play '6 Days on the Road', 'Come Together', and 'Dead Flowers', then I'll have 'em. The people pleaser in me doesn't just want polite applause and comments that I sounded good. I want every performance I make to kill in every room I play in.
