Marlow scanned the dim streets of the rotten part of town, where the street lamps cast a sickly yellow light on the filth and the shadows. Marlow smirked, knowing that the world he lived in was not black and white, but shades of gray.

I like it. Was just thinking of doing a 40s Perry Mason type image. You beat me to it.
