Night Voyagers

"He snuggled into my warmth until no chill remained from his voyage through the night. We kissed and cuddled like racer snakes in May, until I lusted for no more than a berth in the cove of his shoulder. But he hadn't crossed the ocean to sleep. Having stirred me, he roused me. He pressed me to sail on with him. To quest. To discover the many things I'd yet to tell him about me.

"We surged on, my vessel as dependable as it was swift. Shanties hauling on sheets. Starlight in the eyes watching our bearing. Atlantic ice brining his skin, Caribbean warmth caramelising his face, and Indies seasoning his lips. My fingertips finding a hundred little tallies marking a thousand forgotten squalls. His arm steadying me as his bow breasted each swell. Sails strained, foam flew and the chronometer kept ticking off the leagues."
