Mudpuppy is an important character in a science-fantasy superhero project that I'm developing.
One of my central supervillains, Lord Gairon, lives 500+ years. Mudpuppy is one of his childhood protectors. Unfortunately, her species goes officially extinct. As a bio-alchemist, Lord Gairon tries to reconstruct her species via "manufacturing" Opal Units, primarily for military use.
Eventually, there'll be several, genetically enhanced species based on the final results of Lord Gairon's obsessions.
