Their modesty was now their identity—recognized not just in their community, but far beyond. More and more people reached out, seeking guidance, understanding, or simply inspiration. Some admired their dedication; others were skeptics who, over time, began to see the depth of their commitment.
One evening, Vanessa opened their inbox and found an unexpected message.

"Lea, Vanessa, I have been following your journey for a while now. A few years ago, I ran a digital art project called ‘The Modesty Project,’ where I portrayed my characters exclusively in hijab and mask. I even made a public commitment to adopt that life myself. I wanted to live by what I promoted, to be an example of true dedication. But… I failed. Over time, I let compromises slip in. I found excuses, allowed exceptions, and eventually, I abandoned the practice entirely. Now I see you both, unwavering in your commitment, and I wonder: should I return? Is there any point in trying again after failing so completely? And if I do… why should it be absolute this time? Why shouldn’t I allow myself even small exceptions?"
