I've been to many rivers and lakes, and this one has been my favorite. Birds and flowers are all around. And if you look closely enough, you'll see tiny lifeforms everywhere, having no idea about the world around them, just minding themselves and their families. 

I was hiking, and saw a beautiful photo opportunity out on the river. The conflict: the river was way too cold, and way too rapid to cross this time of year. I brought an old fashioned Polaroid with me, and didn't want to miss out on the scenery. So I bounded out onto the rocks. There was a giant, smooth one in the middle that I was trying to get to. I was wearing my brand new leather shoes but was so determined to get that photo. 

So, eventually, two wet shoes and a brush-burn later, I made it to the rock. 

My old creation titled "Maryland" was similar to what the river looked like. This description is WAY longer than the ones I usually type...but I just wanted to share that story because this image reminded me of it!!
