President George Washington

Here is a portrait of the first President of the United States of America, George Washington. He valiantly fought against and successfully defeated tyranny, while helping establish a new type of country, where individuals are granted the opportunity to govern themselves. President Washington had a classical British education of the 18th century, meaning that he was well versed in the philosophies of the ancient Greeks and Romans. He also had a strong understanding of history and law. Him and the other founding fathers very carefully established the government of the United States of America, trying to consider the consequences. To this day, the United States of America stands strong, yet has somewhat deviated from its Christian moral foundation that George Washington considered essential to the survival of the great Constitutional Republic.
