Lore & Behavior:
Murk are the first stirrings of fungal intelligence in the deep dark. They grow from clusters of spores where decayed flesh or magic seeps into the earth. Timid and weak, they scuttle away from threats, releasing choking clouds of spores as a defense mechanism. Some scholars note their tendency to lurk near graveyards or battlefields, feeding on the lingering essence of death. While harmless alone, in swarms they can choke small animals or blind explorers.
