Looking for inspiration having to do with Philippine folklore.  The Sama have what they call Naga or dragon.  They also have the sowa mamatun which is a sea creature.  I'm confused on what makes the difference, but I like that you created from your vantage point of more northern parts of the Philippines. Cheers.

Thank you so much! This sea serpent of the Philippine myths was believed to eat the moon during the lunar eclipses and the people were to make some noise so that the Bakunawa wont swallow it whole. Naga is familiar to me tho. 

That story can be traced back to India.  The name of the creature in their stories and in Sanskrit is Lahuꞌ which is the Sinama word for eclipse.

The Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon in Philippine mythology. It is believed to be the cause of eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. The movements of the Bakunawa served as a geomantic calendar system for ancient Filipinos and were part of the shamanistic rituals of the babaylan.
