I wanted to do this already last year, but I held back, perhaps because I have always been secular.

I was wrong, and in fact I regretted it soon after: the figure of Jesus has a fundamental importance in human history, and it is important regardless of any other consideration (which I will continue not to express).

The message of peace is all the more significant in this year of horrors. And the horror of an innocent life cut down in a barbaric way is what I wanted to represent here: any reference to what is happening now in those same lands is _absolutely intended_.
