I wish I could live forever. I know I can’t. So I sit still sometimes, not because I’m lost, but because I’m listening for where I went quiet. I sit by a tree when the world gets too loud. Big trees feel like Abba’s hands—not rushing me to explain what my spirit knows. I am pure at heart. Not perfect. Pure. I watch what enters me: what I eat, whose thoughts I keep, who I let close. Some things feed you. Some things feed on you. I cannot live forever, but I can stop giving my life to what was never meant to live inside me.
