The machine, doubling down on ships, made this mad, magnificent, mess of rigging on 'roids.

And yet, mistakes notwithstanding, it somehow captures the feeling of the mooring yard: the details are all wrong but the vibe is right.

So embrace the rigging that looks suspiciously like cob-webbing, or perhaps folded gossamer wings that when spread would, in fact, carry the ship aloft.


About this project: 

We wanted to see what an artist might have produced given only a quote and a few contextual hints. In most cases we generated a single image to see how well the machine's dreams captured some meaningful aspect of the text. 

All of the quotes in this series of images come from The Alyscrai, Book One of the Looking Glass of Souls, by D.H. Aidan. You can learn more by following the "Buy Print" link to the book's page on Amazon.
