Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) Scorpion, real name Hanzo Hasashi (藏半藏), is a resurrected ninja from the Mortal Kombat game series. He is one of the first characters created in the first installment of Mortal Kombat. Along with Raiden and Sub-Zero, he appears in all games in the franchise.

Scorpion is a hellish specter who inexorably seeks revenge on those responsible for the destruction of his clan and the death of his own family. Despite his malevolent appearance, he is not actually evil. He joins the forces of evil when he is promised a way to resurrect his clan on Earth, or the opportunity to inflict his wrath on those who massacred them.

Scorpion often indirectly aids Mortal Kombat protagonists in their quests.
