Madcap
Portrayed by Mahria Zook
Mahria Zook embodies Madcap with a disturbing buoyancy, the kind of presence that feels cheerful right up until the moment it becomes unbearable. Her Madcap smiles too long, laughs at the wrong beats, and moves with a loose, cartoon elasticity that makes violence feel like a punchline. Zook plays her as someone who isn’t broken by trauma so much as liberated by it, a woman who has discovered that nothing matters, and finds that revelation endlessly funny.
In the New MCU, Madcap is the living embodiment of nihilism. Once a small-time criminal who survived a catastrophic experiment that obliterated her capacity for pain, fear, and restraint, she emerges psychologically untethered from consequence. She doesn’t seek power, money, or ideology. She seeks reaction. Screams are applause. Shock is currency. Her chaos isn’t strategic, it’s improvisational, instinctive, and deeply contagious.
