Kogeru (Ko - gair - roo) means "scorch" in Japanese.

Kogeru is the elder brother to Gin with him being 17 to her 14. Like her, he too is an Okami. However, he's more in touch with his wolfish nature than she is due to him having more time to learn about what it means to be Okami.

Kogeru is extremely protective over Gin due to them being all that's left of their family and birth-pack. He doesn't necessarily approve of Gin's connection with Kakashi Hatake and Sasuke Uchiha, but he doesn't say anything against them either. He does, however, approve of Gin's friendship with both Hinata and Naruto. Due to them being similar ages and because of them being good influences on each other as a whole.

Like all Okami, Kogeru is skilled in using Lightning, Water, Wind, Earth, and Yin/Yang release while being deathly allergic and weak towards those who use Fire Release. In this case, they avoid angering the Uchiha in any way they can because of it.
